close to the beach. The beach in Newport is neat with lots of sea anemones. My kids love digging holes in the sand, so bring a shovel. Many recommend visiting Agate Beach for beach combing.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Oregon_Coast_Aquarium\"><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a title=\"Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/oregon-coast-aquarium-in-newport-oregon\/\">Oregon Coast Aquarium<\/a> <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>This large aquarium is considered to be the best aquarium in the state of Oregon and I suppose it is. I cannot think of any other aquariums in Oregon. It is a large aquarium with lots to see and do.<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hatfield_Science_Center\"><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a title=\"OSU Hatfield Science Visitor Center \u2013 Newport, OR\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/osu-hatfield-science-visitor-center-newport-or\/\">Hatfield Science Center <\/a><\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>This is a completely free science center and it&#8217;s awesome! They have a touch pool that your children will especially enjoy.<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Visit_the_Sea_Lions\"><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Visit the Sea Lions<\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>Located near downtown, these sea lions&nbsp;can be fun to watch. Just ask around for where to find them. Plus, you get to see a waterfall. It is steep on the way back up, but not too bad.<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Visit_Lighthouse\"><\/span><strong>Visit Lighthouse<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>You can also visit the Yaquina Head lighthouse or the Yaquina Bay lighthouse. Lighthouses tend to be quite interesting for kids, especially if they&#8217;ve never seen one before.<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Devils_Punchbowl_State_Park\"><\/span>Devil&#8217;s Punchbowl State Park&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>This is an interesting rock formation, and worth the drive over to see it.<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Newport_Discovery_Zoo\"><\/span><strong>Newport Discovery Zoo<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>This is not a traditional zoo, this is more of a rescue. It&#8217;s a great place to see exotic animals and learn.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Aquarium_Village\"><\/span>Aquarium Village<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>A neat looking area where families can shop or visit a restaurant.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ripleys_Believe_it_or_not\"><\/span>Ripley&#8217;s Believe it or not!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>I didn&#8217;t originally include this in my list because it was run down. They reached out to me and let me know that they&#8217;ve updated it.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Escape_Rooms_Newport\"><\/span>Escape Rooms Newport<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>Trap your kids in a room with you for at least an hour while you solve puzzles, clues, and more to escape from one of their themed rooms.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mike_Miller_Trail\"><\/span>Mike Miller Trail<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p>The Mike Miller&nbsp;hiking loop is a 1 mile easy trail.
