Because nothing says &#8220;relaxing birthday&#8221; like the chaos of traveling with teens, right? Spoiler alert: it was actually incredible. This charming bed and breakfast sits on 22 acres of rolling hills. This should definitely be advertised as an <em>adults-only<\/em> vibe, this wasn&#8217;t a good place to stay with teens. I booked it because it specifically said that the rooms would accommodate three people. Once we were there you can imagine how displeased I was when they charged more than a hundred dollars for my third person. Leaving. Just kidding, kind of it was the <strong>breakfast<\/strong>. Granted, it was the slowest service ever, so we were truly starving by the time food arrived and anything would have tasted good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pro Tip: Book early if you\u2019re planning a summer trip \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/vrbo.stay22.com\/mommytravels\/BDXXSsajBf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Wimberley rentals<\/a> fill up fast, especially the ones with pools and hot tubs. And trust me, you&#8217;ll want that hot tub after a day of hiking and shopping. Picture crystal-clear water shaded by ancient cypress trees \u2014 it\u2019s basically a natural lazy river. This spot sits right on Cypress Creek, so we got to enjoy dinner with a view of the water and twinkling string lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I kicked things off with a watermelon margarita (because birthday rules), and we started with the fried green tomatoes and chips and queaso \u2014 both were phenomenal. I had tacos, and the teens went all in on the fried chicken sandwiches and fries. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessert? Oh yes. The chocolate lava cake was <em>exactly<\/em> what a birthday dessert should be \u2014 rich, gooey, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing wakes you up faster than flying over the Hill Country at 30 mph. The kids loved it \u2014 and honestly, so did I. There&#8217;s something about the combination of speed, height, and breathtaking views that makes you forget you\u2019re supposed to be a responsible adult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next stop: <strong>Rough Creek Lavender Fields<\/strong>. Lavender fields might not scream &#8220;teen activity,&#8221; but they were surprisingly into it. Maybe it was the calming smell, or maybe it was the fact that they got to take some cute photos for Instagram. Either way, it was a win. We picked up some lavender honey and lotion before heading off to lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lunch was at <strong>The Wimberley Cafe<\/strong> \u2014 a small-town gem where the coffee is strong, the pie is homemade, and the staff treats you like family. We split a slice of pecan pie and a slice of chocolate cream pie because birthdays require tough decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_3_Market_Days_and_One_Last_Dip\"><\/span><strong>Day 3: Market Days and One Last Dip<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday morning, we hit up <strong>Wimberley Market Days<\/strong> \u2014 the largest outdoor market in Texas. There are over 400 vendors selling everything from handmade jewelry to vintage cowboy boots. The water is freezing which is nice when it&#8217;s 100 degrees outside! (Sadly, it was completely closed when I was there.
