Eden and I spotted at least 5 sea turtles. (You can rent paddle boards at nearby\u00a0<a class=\"notranslate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/surfnsea_haleiwa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Surfnsea in Haleiwa<\/a>\u00a0for $20 an hour. Once you are on the island you can climb around it and depending on the water condition cliff jump. If it is windy this can quickly become an intense kayak trip out and back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact:<\/strong> Lanikai Beach is the 10th most Instagrammed beach in the world. I have tried another company, but I liked this one better. You can see all kinds of fish here. There are a few extremely shallow sections. So, if you are into hiking you must do at least one good one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/hiking-diamond-head-in-oahu-hawaii-with-kids\/\"><strong>Diamond Head<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Diamond Head is a must during any Oahu vacation! They also do a good luau here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience a Luau<\/strong> &#8211; There are lots of places that offer a luau experience, including the Polynesian Cultural Center, Hale Koa resort, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/10-things-need-know-trip-aulani\/\">Aulani Disney Resort<\/a>, Hilton Waikiki, and more. The cheapest one of military personnel is probably the one at the Hale Koa. You can find almost any store you are looking for somewhere on the island. Instead of mentioning the obvious places I am just going to list some of my favorite ones that are unique to Oahu.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Honalua Surf Co. &#8211; Near the Hawaii Fire shop is a bathing suit shop that has more bathing suits than anyone could ever possibly need. Try to get a rate that includes breakfast. One of the nights they had live music at the pool bar, which was super enjoyable. The location is phenomenal. It&#8217;s within walking distance of so many things that you don&#8217;t need a car if you are staying here. We loved the adults only infinity pool and the multiple hot tubs. I think all the rooms have an incredible view. We could see Diamond Head from our room. It had a few onsite restaurants which was also so convienant.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Military_Lodging_on_Oahu\"><\/span>Military Lodging on Oahu<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With so many bases in Hawaii there are tons of places for military members, veterans, and their family members to stay at. So far we have stayed at four of them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/beach-cabins-at-bellows-afb\/\">Bellows AFB Cabins<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; These are so nice if you can score one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/hale-koa-military-resort-on-waikiki-beach-honolulu-hawaii\/\">Hale Koa\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Depending on your rank this might be a little overpriced.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mommytravels.net\/military-lodging-at-joint-base-pearl-harbor-hickam\/\">Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hickam TLF<\/strong> &#8211; We stayed in one of these before they remodeled the housing, so it&#8217;s hard to say exactly what it&#8217;s like now, but at the time it was 2 or 3 bedrooms for $55 a night.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"stay22-widget\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stay22.com\/embed\/66115d768ee8774e00962477\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Save_Money_in_Hawaii\"><\/span><b>How to Save Money in Hawaii<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Oahu is not cheap. I know total shocker! But like any destination that are various ways to try and save some money. Here are a few.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bring_Your_Own_Snorkel\"><\/span>Bring Your Own Snorkel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There are a handful of easy ways to save a few bucks in Hawaii and it mostly comes down to packing certain items like snorkel gear. If you have to rent snorkel gear each time you want to snorkel you can quickly end up spending quite a bit of money. Instead of spending $10 or $20 here and there buy yourself a set and take it with you anytime you are headed somewhere you might use it.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eat_a_Cheap_Breakfast_in_your_Hotel_Room\"><\/span>Eat a Cheap Breakfast in your Hotel Room<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Another quick and easy way to save money is by bringing something to eat for breakfast. Anything you are going to buy in Hawaii is going to cost you double. Throwing in one or two boxes of pop tarts into your suitcase can end up saving you tons of money. Think about it. Every time a family of four needs to have breakfast in Hawaii it\u2019s going to be at least $50. That box of pop tarts only costs $3 bucks! That\u2019s a massive savings.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Watch_for_Deals\"><\/span>Watch for Deals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpbolvw.net\/click-3447064-15230314?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.groupon.com%2Flocal%2Fthings-to-do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Groupon&#8217;s Daily Deals<\/a>\u00a0are available all around the island. I got a good deal on parasailing and a catamaran cruise through this.<\/p>\n<p>Watch various websites for the best hotel deal. Use which ever site you need to.
